RIYADH: Janadriyah will host the first major top-tier contest of the Horse Racing Club’s 40th round of races on December 26. The two races are the 10th and 11th rounds of the Crown Prince’s Cup, with each race offering a prize of SR900,000 ($240,000) — a significant increase over 2018’s prize money of $67,000 per race. Both races will be run over a distance of 2,400 meters.
The CEO of the Horse Racing Club, Mohammed Al-Jasser, stressed that the championship is an important part of the Saudi racing season, and plays a central role in developing racing standards in the Kingdom.
Al-Jasser said: “The Horse Racing Club began early preparations for this championship and the requirements for its success, in addition to regularly reviewing all of its technical aspects.”
